Can You Digi It Challenge 28 - Going Green

Happy Tuesday morning!

Today marks the start of a new challenge over at the Can You Digi It blog.  To celebrate Pantone's color of the year, we're going green!  Emerald green to be exact.  The Can You Digi It Challenge 28 is to create a project inspired by all this gorgeous green goodness:

cydi28

And here's my emerald green card:

I used the Bee Happy digital image from Lily Pink Designs to create this little card.

I colored the image using Photo Shop Elements, printed it, and fussy cut the hexagons apart.  I adhered the individual hexagons in flower-like shape to a kraft card base, and popped up the center using foam adhesive.

I created the sentiment in Photo Shop Elements and trimmed it into a fishtail banner shape.  I finished the card off with a little faux pen stiching and two green rhinestones.

I hope you'll join in the fun and play along with us at Can You Digi It!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Love

Happy Thursday!

I just wanted to to stop in to share a few love themed cards I made last month to send off to OWH.  I used American Craft's Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection, some DCWV rub-ons, and Hearty Barley stamps by Unity Stamp Company.

CAS(E) This Sketch 11

Just popping in to share the card I made for CAS(E) This Sketch 11 challenge.

Here's my card:

I used an awesome Can You Digi It digi stamp called Bee Happy by LilyPink Designs.  I cut apart the different hexagons in the image and colored them in using Spectrum Noir Markers.  I added a little bling and a sentiment.

January Christmas Card Challenge

I hope you are having a relaxing Sunday.  I know we sure are.  It's been a nice and quiet weekend around our home.  So I've finally gotten a chance to make my January Christmas cards for the 2013 Christmas card challenge.

This month's challenge was to create Christmas cards using non-traditional colors.  Here's what I came up with:

I made two of each design for a total of six cards.  My goal each month is to make five cards, so I'm ahead by one!  Woo-hoo!!

Thanks for stopping by today.

I just wanted to share my take on Retro Sketch #46.

Here is this week's Retro Sketch:

And this is my card:

Mojo Monday 276

Hello!  I'm just stopping in to share a card I put together for Mojo Monday Challenge 276.

This is the Mojo Monday sketch:

This is my card:

I used a free digi image from Bird's Cards.  I paired the digi image with a selection of papers from a MME pad and some solid pink card stock.

Take Wing

Just popping in to share my card for today.

To create the circles I used the backs of two different sized clear stamps.

To get the spotty pattern in the circles, I made sure to use clear acrylic stamps (not photpolymer, but the clear stamps you can pick up for fairly inexpensive at the local big box crafter stores) and dye ink.

If you've ever tried to get a clean stamped image from a clear acrylic stamp using dye ink, you know that it's pretty much impossible because the die ink pools on the surface of the stamp.  So I used that idea to give my circles some visual interest.

I created a simple butterfly embellishment from two Memory  Box Vivienne butterfly die cuts, one yellow and one gray, with a clear rhinestone center.

To finish the card, I heat embossed the "Take Wing" sentiment in yellow, anchored the card using a slim strip of gray to the left-hand side, and added a little splattering of yellow paint.

Well, that's all from me today!  Thanks for stopping by!

You Mean the World to Me!

Happy Tuesday!

I wanted to pop into share a few more digi image cards I've been working on.  I found an awesome Heart Map digi stamp from this fantastic website for free!  If you have a digital die cutting machine, this website also offers free svg files to coordinate with her digi stamps.

Using PSE I was able to manipulate the digi image, add my own sentiment, and create these cards:

I thought these would make some awesome masculine Valentines or love themed cards for OWH.  So I'll be including these in my next box.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Bee Happy

Hey all!  Happy Monday!

Stopping in with a cute little digi stamp card I made:

I found this cute little bee and matching sentiment over at Paper Smooches, and used Photoshop to create the card's layout.  It's a fun little reminder to always bee happy.

Thanks for stopping by today!

OWH Midweek Throwdown: Sentiment Free

Woo-hoo, I'm on a roll!  Second post of the day for the second day in a row! {Doing a little happy dance.  Care to join in?}

I wanted to play along with Operation Write Home's Midweek Throwdown Challenge, Sentiment Free.

What do you mean no sentiment?  Is that even possible?  I have made all of ONE, as in singular, card without a sentiment ever!  So, yeah, this was a bit of a challenge for me.

I fought every one of my card-making instincts long enough to create this little card:

That's right, no sentiment anywhere on this little beauty!

Well, that's it for me today.  Let the happy dancing continue!

OWH Sketch 154

Hello again.

I just wanted to stop in to share a card I made using this week's Operation Write Home Sketch #154.

This is the awesome sketch:

And this is the card I created:

You'll notice that my center focal point is TWICE as big as the sketch called for, but I took a little creative license and used it anyways!  I just learned to make these little -- what would you call them?  Rosettes? -- from a tutorial I found on Splitcoast Stampers. It was super fun to make!  In fact it was so fun to make that I kind of went crazy and made a whole bunch to use on future projects!

Anyhow, thanks for stopping in!

Love You to the Core

See I told you I'd be back.

I just wanted to share one more card I made for Sweet n' Sassy's January Release Challenge 5.  The challenge is to make a love themed card.  I wanted to stay away from the expected heart/love thing.  So I turned to a digi stamp, Apple of My Eye, instead and used my own little punny sentiment.

Here's my card:

Well, that's it for me today.  Thanks for stopping by!

Somebuggy Loves You!

Hey everybody!  Just wanted to share a card I made for the Sweet n' Sassy January Release Challenge No. 4.  The challenge is to create a card using their wonderful sketch below:

This is my card:

I just love these cute little lady bugs from Sweet n' Sassy's Somebuggy Loves You stamp set!  I paired the lady bugs with some polka dot paper, because what else would you pair with a lady bug?!?!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I have one more post for the Sweet n' Sassy January Release Challenges coming up next, so stay tuned!

Sweet n' Sassy & Mojo Monday Challenges

Happy new year!!!

I know it's been a bit quiet around my blog, but now that the holidays are over I am back!

Just wanted to pop in with a little a card I made for Sweet n' Sassy's Challenge 1 of their January New Release Challenges.  The theme for the challenge is creature comforts.  The first thing I thought of is my sweet dog Sugar.  She is such a comfort to me.  She's a constant companion and very good listener!

So without further chit chat, here's my card:

I used a Sweet n' Sassy stamp set called Ruff Day.  I just discovered Sweet n' Sassy in the last few weeks, and I have to say that I'm hooked.  I LOVE all their cute critters and punny sentiments

The card was made using Mojo Moday's Sketch 275.

Well, that's it!  There's still time to play in both challenges, so be sure to check them both out!
