CAS-ual Fridays 121

I love the challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays this week!  The CAS-ual Friday's Challenge 121 is to use 8 of something.  This is my card:

I stamped the smallest "button" from Papertrey Ink's Bits & Buttons set eight times on a 3-inch panel.  I tried to create an ombre effect by stamping the buttons using PTI's Sweet Blush, Autumn Rose, and Scarlet Jewel inks.  I stamped the "Hello, Friend" sentiment from the Dear Lizzy Collection in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

To keep the eye moving from the sentiment, I placed loops of coordinating colored ribbon on the upper left-hand side of the square panel.

I used foam adhesive to mount my square onto the white cardstock panel, and used my score board to score a square around it.

Finally, the entire thing is mounted on a black card base.

Well, that's it for me today.  Have a super weekend!

Paper Player's Challenge 170

Hi there.

I'm back with a quick post.  I wanted to share the card I made for Paper Player's Challenge 170.  The challenge's theme is "Wildlife."

This is my card:

I used another Birdie Brown Freebie image that I colored and cut out using my Cameo.  I adhered both images to some green polka dot paper, added some faux stitching, and a heat embossed sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!

CAS(E) This Sketch 52

Just wanted to stop in to share the card I made for CAS(E) this Sketch #52.  Here is this week's sketch:
This my card:

I used my Cameo to cut this pennant shape out of the Christmas tree patterned paper by the Paper Studio.  Next I cut this tree from Hero Arts out of pink cardstock and covered it in pink glitter to match the pink glitter trees on the patterned paper.  I cut this banner shape out of two shades of pink cardstock and heat embossed my sentiment using white embossing powder and a stamp from a Technique Tuesday set.

I started by attaching the glitter die-cut tree onto the front of my card and tying some pink baker's twine around the card front.  I added the patterned panel using foam adhesive to get some dimension.  And I finished off the card by attaching the sentiment banner.

Thanks for stopping by today!

OWH's Midweek Throwdown: Seeing Stars

I made this card for OWH's Midweek Throwdown Seeing Stars Challenge.

I used a sentiment and star stamp from Lawn Fawn's Lucky Star stamp set to create a background.  I added some star embellishments I cut using my Cameo.  I mounted everything on a navy card base to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Clean & Simple Stamping 264

I put together a little card using Clean and Simple's Sketch 264.

The image is a digital stamp freebie from Birdie Brown.  She does some amazing work.  You can find her blog here.  Instead of fussy cutting the image out, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the digital image -- so much easier than trying to cut it by hand.  Don't you just love technology!?!?

I heat embossed the sentiment in gold.  Looking back now, I wish I would have heat embossed it using brown.  The sentiment is lost on the paper.  Sad :(

Have a fantastic day!

Bigger Blooms Birthday Card

I know it's been way too long since I've had a chance to stop in and say hi.  My personal life has undergone some MAJOR changes these past few months and I haven't had much time to craft or blog.  I think things are starting to even out a bit though so I thought I'd share a little card I put together this last week.

I've been on a bit of floral kick lately.  So when I found this lovely card, I was inspired to create this card:

I started by lightly sketching an oval on my card front.  Next I heat embossed one of the leaf images and the sentiment using gold embossing powder.  Next I die cut and stamped several flowers and leaves.  I laid out my flowers following the gold embossed leaves.  I love the way this little beauty turned out!

Happy Almost Spring

Hello crafty friends!  I know it's been a little while since I've posted.  Things have just been crazy around here and a lot of postive changes have been happening!  So I just wanted to stop by and say hi.

With Spring just around the corner, I have been in major stash busting mode!  I am a paper hoarder big time, and I've decided that I really need to start using up my stockpile of paper before I run out of crafting space!

I went back to my oldest stack of paper and have been crafting from there.  Here are a few cards I made:

OWH Midweek Throw Down - Fun Folds

This week's OWH Midweek Throw Down is all about Fun Folds.  I had never heard of a Joy Fold until  I read OWH's post, and I have to say it's pretty cool!  I found this awesome tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers.  Here's my card:

Addicted to CAS Challenge 6

Just wanted to share a card that I made for Addicted to CAS's Challenge 6.  The code word for this challenge is candy.  Here's my candy card:

I loved the colors in my sticky notepad, so I used them for this card.  I die cut each sticky note, colored them with my Versamark pen, and used some clear glitter embossing powder to add a glossy candy-like finish to my jars.  I used a stamp from Cosmo Cricket's S'More Love for my sentiment.

OWH's Virtual Card Making Party - Challenge 5

I know I did this a little bit out of order but these are my cards for Challenge 5 of OWH's Virtual Card Making Party.  Challenge 5 is "Disappearing Act with Sketch 63."  The idea is to take one sheet of 12 x 12 paper and turn it into 6 cards using this sketch:

Here's my take on the sketch:

And I really did make all six cards!

OWH's Virtual Card Making Party - Challenge 6

I am having such a fun time with OWH's Virtual Card Making Party!  I am on a roll!  So it's fitting that Challenge 6 is "Things with Wheels!"

Here's my card:

I had some fun with this card.  I started with a white piece of card stock that I "water colored" with some distress ink.  Next I stamped my CTMH bicycle on the dried water colored background.  I added some color with my Prismacolor pencils and fussy cut only the bottom of the bicycle.

I'll be back soon with another card!

OWH's Virtual Card Making Party - Challenge 2

I'm back with my card for Challenge 2 of OWH's Virtual Card Making Party!  The second challenge is called "All Creatures Great and Small; Cards for Kids."

Here's my take on this fun challenge:

I used one of my favorite stamps, Puppy Love, a digital stamp set from Sweet n' Sassy Stamps.  I colored him with my Prismacolor pencils to look my sweet fur baby, Sugar.

Yep, you're seeing that correctly.  She's found herself a pillow and tucked herself under the rug for a nice long nap.  She's such a silly girl!

OWH's Virtual Card Making Party - Challenge 1

Happy Sunday to you!  If you're here in the sates happy President's Day weekend!  I hope that you're enjoying your three-day weekend doing something fun.

Hubby and I just got last night from a quick trip up to Reno, Nevada and Lake Tahoe.  It was a gorgeous trip!  The weather was sunny and there was still snow up in the mountains.  Lake Tahoe is breathtaking any time of year.  Here's the view from North Shore.

Anyway, back to why I'm here!  OWH is having a Virtual Card Making Party this weekend!  There are several fun challenges up on their blog, so be sure to swing by and check it out!  The first challenge was to create a card using zig-zags (aka Chevrons).  I love chevrons so this challenge was a ton of fun!  Here's my quick little chevron card:

The paper and embellie are from American Craft's soon-to-be-released Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm collection!  I won this entire collection from American Craft's during their CHA previews, and I must say it is so much fun!  Thank you, American Crafts!

I'm going to be posting quite few times today to play along with OWH's Virtual Card Making Party, so don't say I didn't warn you!

CYDI? Challenge 29

Holy smokes this has been a CRAZY busy week!  I can't believe that it's Friday already!

Anyhow, I finally have a chance to sit down and collect my thoughts, so I thought I'd stop in and share the card I created for the CYDI? Challenge 29, Love is in the air.  This week's challenge is all about love.  And here's the lovely little card I created for the challenge:

I used KiniArt's Shorky image.  I just love this little girl with her cute little bandana!  I used my Prisma colors to color her.  I didn't blend the colors because I wanted her to have a "fur" texture.  I finished the card with some fun paper from American Crafts and a typed sentiment.

Well, that's all from me.  I hope that you'll find time to play along with this week's CYDI? Challenge!

Can You Digi It Challenge 28 - Going Green

Happy Tuesday morning!

Today marks the start of a new challenge over at the Can You Digi It blog.  To celebrate Pantone's color of the year, we're going green!  Emerald green to be exact.  The Can You Digi It Challenge 28 is to create a project inspired by all this gorgeous green goodness:

cydi28

And here's my emerald green card:

I used the Bee Happy digital image from Lily Pink Designs to create this little card.

I colored the image using Photo Shop Elements, printed it, and fussy cut the hexagons apart.  I adhered the individual hexagons in flower-like shape to a kraft card base, and popped up the center using foam adhesive.

I created the sentiment in Photo Shop Elements and trimmed it into a fishtail banner shape.  I finished the card off with a little faux pen stiching and two green rhinestones.

I hope you'll join in the fun and play along with us at Can You Digi It!

Thanks for stopping by today!
